Not even sure where to start on this one. Am very mad at Jerri and Coach. How is it that people who normally seem so smart and rational end up being such dolts?
Right. So backing up a little... Basically the Villains are imploding. They got KILLED on the reward challenge, which was a basketball in the water sort of thing. Some good wrassling, especially where Rupert and Russell almost came to blows, but really the Heroes had the whole game finished in minutes. Two shots by Colby and one by Candice. Yep, the two most on the outs with the team were the ones to win it. So they won a nice feast and a clue to the hidden immunity idol, which they decided they'd all look for together. How very kumbaya, non? Ummm... missing the point a little, but whatever. And Rupert is still insufferable... the Eeyore talk has got to stop... and what's with all the pent-up aggression? Really.
Meanwhile over at the Villains camp, Jerri is swayed by Russell. Yep. She falls for both Russell's and Parvati's BS.... something about they're the stronger players and something about how Jerri just can't trust Boston Rob... blah blah blah. Even though BR hasn't given her any reason whatsoever (this game, at least) not to. Well this makes the Dragonslayer angry. And for good reason... Jerri has decided to ally herself with Russell without consulting her #1 ally, Coach... putting him in a bad spot. Either he's got to break ties with Jerri, which he won't do because of some sort of misplaced "fair maiden" idea, OR he's got to break ties with his #1 mancrush, Boston Rob. Strange when the Dragonslayer suddenly seems like the most rational player on Survivor, non? Don't worry, it's not for long.
Anyways, the Villains go on to lose the immunity challenge as well. They get a pretty good lead (it's an obstacle challenge + puzzle - usually the Villain's forte....) but then Courtney loses a bunch of time. Most people climb up the ladder and then drop down onto the net/trampoline type thing. Courtney does not. Why? Because she is made of twigs and will likely break if she falls. Then BR and Sandra just can't catch up to the Heroes (Colby again!) on the puzzle. Looks bad for Courtney at first... she's the weakest player, blah blah blah. But it turns out to be 3 (Russell, Parvati & Danielle) against 3 (BR, Sandra & Courtney) with Coach & Jerri in the middle. So now it's not looking good for Boston Rob. Even though he makes a pretty rational, smart case for staying in their larger alliance, Jerri is still leaning the other way.
OK, so here's where I start getting angry. WHY? Why the heck would you choose to switch when you've got a solid alliance of 5 vs. an alliance of 3 who you hate? Jerri pretty much can't stand Russell and she's made no secret of the fact that she hates Parvati (for which she earned my appreciation early in the game by declaring she wanted to punch Parvati in the face.) So why join them? It's so out of whack, I just can't stand it. And after Tyson's dumb move last show, I'm convinced it's the second dumbest move on the show so far. The only good thing about it is that it is what makes the show good. You can't just say that one group is going to win - because something can happen that changes it all up. Yesterday Courtney & Sandra were in an alliance of 5. Today, they're 2 and they're totally on the outs. (ps. Did you like the part where Courtney was talking about Parvati & how she'll pretty much flirt with anything that walks? Hee!)
So Boston Rob went home. Jerri voted against him and Coach.... well Coach took the most cowardly way out. For such a "Noble Warrior" he sure is a scared little weasel of a human. He voted for Courtney. Rather than pick sides, he went for someone who wasn't going home at all. He could have made it interesting by voting Russell & it would have been a tie. Fun, right? Let them fight it out mano a mano styles. No. He's just not that smart. Who IS smart? Boston Rob, who saw it all unfolding from the get go. And Boston Rob who said to Coach on his way out, "You are a little man." Ooooooo, that hurt. To be called that by your Survivor Idol and mancrush... to have turned just for the sake of not turning on the woman who actually just turned on you.... Boo. Not well played at all, and not very well thought through. So Rob was the sacrifice of this game, but Coach is the truest loser and both Coach and Jerri will soon be picked off by their new "alliance" and deservedly so. That Boston Rob isn't even on the jury is a travesty. At this point, I'm changing my vote too. I hope Colby wins.
